The Global Goals for Sustainable Development
WHAT ARE THE GLOBAL GOALS?
On 25th September 2015, leaders from 193 member states of the United Nations, met to discuss the world’s problems and decide on a plan to tackle them. They named this plan the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (commonly known as the Global Goals).
Take a look at the following comic, read carefully and answer the questions:
1. Which of the 17 global goals do you identify in the University or in your community?
2. How could you contribute to tackling that challenge?
1. I think that in my community it's very easy detect that there is a lot proverty and inequality but nevertheless Medellin is a innovation city and try to reduce the inequality with education giving the oportunity to people without resources.
ResponderEliminar2.I think that many things in the life could be solved with education, obviously generating optimal conditions for the person this secure a better life equality.

Eliminar1.In the community exist the problem the gender equality, this is no now, this problem exist since the begin of the time, the women is don´t include in different works because the society thinks the man is the strong gender, for example the woman’s clean the house, take care of the kids and prepare the food for the family. In addition to this idea the salary between man and women is very different and the woman participate in the politics is minor supported for the society, is the same in the sports, in the church and in other aspects.
ResponderEliminar2.The solution I propose is include more the women in different works, now is more, but is not sufficient. The first solution is the business pay the same salary without matter the gender, the second is the man’s address alike everything woman’s, and the third solution is man’s share the house activities.

Eliminar1. In the University there is a problem about the zero hunger, because there are many students that they can not access a good diet, they don´t have the necessary resources.
ResponderEliminar2. It could create a cafeteria for the students and program of nutrition. The students can do a food collection every month for those without resources.
1. I think that in the Nacional University of Colombia, there are people poor, for example with two foods for day. The incoherence is that “beauty” has become an addiction, so I know many cases of pathologies associated with the food. In the other hand, the quality education is down, principally because the government don’t give money or attention. Finally, all types of goals from the development sustainable in this moment, need that all persons be aware that “The Earth is our home”.
ResponderEliminar2. All the challenges need EDUCATION, about the respect, the planet, the life… Some actions will be transcendental if all people understand this. For example, I’m contribute when I’m not buy more of the necessary, when I shower me fast and of course, when I’m study.
1. I think that the most important problem in my city is that there is not good health and well-being, because there are a lot of lack of education about the body, their rights, the services related to sexual and reproductive health, also many people doesn't have access to health care and they have not the opportunities of have essential medication or vaccination, and the last one. On the other hand there are not freedom from addiction because the education about this problem is very poor.
ResponderEliminar2. Actually I think that those problems are really big, so we just can help people that we see close to us telling what we think and sharing our knowledge about it, but with the health care I think that the government should provide a possibility of having it for all the people.

EliminarI know a project of the university wich wants improve several conditions in Isla Fuerte. The project comprisses the following goals:
ResponderEliminarQuality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, decent work an economic growth, life below water and life on land.
They search mainly raise awareness to islanders on this problematics, explain the manglar, biodiversity, and forest importance and improve tecnological acces in school. They making the process inclusive for everyone persons of the island.
Also, the university campus is a "sanctuary" of biodiversity, having plants endangered cultivated and many birds.
I think contribute mainly with the conservation of terrestial plants.
I think that in my city there is a lot inequality education, lack of peace and justice and there is poverty such as in many cities. this issues are produced for the lack of awareness, knowlegde and oportunities. The best way to tackling this problems is contributing our capacities and availability, knowledge, education and the most important, to help without profit. other way is offer employments for the poverty people.

1. Goal 12: responsible consumption and production; I identify it like a challenge in the university and also in my community cause the amount of trash that i see every day I’m incredible and we have to fix it now

To help with the issue I always try to put the garbage that I generate in the right box, and if I don't have the change to throw it in a dumb for any reason I prefer to put it in my pockets till I arrive to my house cause I thing that with little actions we can become the world in a better place to live.
1.In my community is evident the inequality, poverty and hunger because some people not live in good condition, for this is important look up the possible solution for this problem and this way improve the quality of life from much persons.

1. It is obvious how life is being lost on land. The loss of animal habitat by deforestation and pollution of the oceans. We are losing our biodiversity.

Sustainable cities and communities (eleventh) is the goal what I can identify like a challenge around of my housing place, because I consider that is so important what the people worry about security an wellness in their lives, so with support of different social leaders and with the purpose of each individual, we have been reaching a equality and advance about the life opportunities, including persons such as: babies, children, teen and all kind of adults.

I would like to kept this positive constant change posting in social networks videos and photographs where another person can understand and participate in this project, too I want to support the different mobilizations for to solicitude to the state economics resources and protection for this goal.
1. In my community and university it is easy to identify problems such as inequality and poverty since although I live in a country with a development and innovation mentality, the same opportunities do not exist for all people due to corruption issues and an incorrect handling of laws but this can be solved as stated by the 17 global goals in this case the goals 4, 5, 10, 16.

Eliminar1.I lived for many years in El Bagre,Antioquia and in this community is evident the poverty, many families don’t have basic services in their homes, neither they don’t have access to health care, business and job opportunities, quality education. All these problems exist for year throughout the country, but I don’t seen much progress in all these year. The mayors steal money for economics supports y the constructions.
ResponderEliminar2.A possible solution are the government eliminate the corruption and better the economics support to people that need it. In this case the government give more resources for the education because this the most important aspect in the society, the other solution is give more jobs for the people need for better your life quality and support the small business.

1. The community I live with in general lacks good health and well-being. People are in contact with drugs They do not have education about this. There are families without access to health services, services related to sexual and reproductive healtgh further the chlidren are in vulnerable milieu.

In my community I identify some of the 17 goals, but especially the twelfth and the ninth, because in residency have an old infrastructure and we need to take advantage of all edifications, and another problem is the bad use of natural recurses and renewable recurses because I didn’t have seen that my neighbors recycle and use correctly the trash

1. It is possible to identify a bad consumption of products and an inadequate recycling management of recycling in the university, because although there are trash cans there is no adequate recycling of this in the University, different types of waste are combined

ResponderEliminar1. I think that the main problem in my community is related to the goal of good health and well-being, because it does not have a good health system, access to medical consultations is very difficult, and the emergency service is very poor.
ResponderEliminar2.I think that now I could not do anything to solve the problem, but in the future I may be able to generate a new free access medication for some disease, from my profession.
In my community, I see an important problem: irresponsible consumption, because the people buy innecesary things with a consumerist mentality and without think in the environment.
ResponderEliminarI propose to mitigate this trouble, to make advertising campaigns when everyone being to change the mentality and buy only neccesary things to decrease the pollution and garbage.
I think that the four most notorious problems in Medellin, of these seventeen, are:

the lack of collective awareness regarding the urgency of recycling garbage.
We could start immediately on two of these issues.
1. In the city people are not recycling in an appropriate way. It is enough that each of us recycle efficiently in all places related with our daily becoming. Let's start with the University.
2. It is necessary to reduce food waste, which reaches large volumes in the city.
1. I think goal number 12 is very present in the capital of Antioquia, it is reflected in the Medellín River and you only have to look at the mountains to see the air pollution. In addition, we are constantly on yellow alert for this problem.
ResponderEliminar2.The best way to solve this problem is to start with ourselves, for example using public transportation or bicycles and not a private car. I also believe that the implementation of public policies plays a fundamental role.

bad policies,corruption and injustice are related problems that have to be solved.

I think that the objectives of sustainable development are present in the university, such as: good health and well-being, given that we have block 50 for the health care of students; quality education, because we are an accredited university as a very high level of higher education; climate action, for the fact that we make use of garbage recycling.
